RACISM/TRUMP AS PRESIDENT/TRUMP PEOPLE: “President Donald Trump woke up thinking about Covington Catholic. In a tweet Tuesday [1-22-19] morning, Trump again expressed support for the all-boys Catholic school in Kentucky after outrage over a viral video from the weekend of a standoff with a Native American activist exploded. More videos emerged Sunday [1-20-19], a day after the first video was posted, that showed a group of Black Hebrew Israelites harassing the students before Nathan Phillips, the Native American man in the video, and several supporters got between the two groups, casting more questions about who was the instigator in the confrontation…Trump first weighed in on the incident Monday evening. In a tweet late that night, Trump expressed support for the Kentucky high school students, saying that the teenagers had been treated unfairly in the media…The initial impression was that Sandmann, seen smiling at Phillips while wearing a ‘Make America Great Again’ hat as his classmates appeared to egg on the conflict, was acting disrespectfully toward the Native American man.”
