DEMS/ELECTION/GOP/POLLS/TRUMP AS PRESIDENT: “A contentious conversation about politics is quietly happening in America’s suburbs among college-educated white men who hold opposing views of President Trump…Mr. Ikins and others like him were responding to a recent Times article reporting that, ahead of the midterm elections, many affluent suburban white men are warming up to or sticking with President Trump and plan to vote Republican. As we reported, a nearly equal amount are not, according to an Oct. 8 Washington Post poll. The poll shows that their party preference is split evenly, 49 percent to 49 percent, between Democrats and Republicans.”
