GOP/NOMINATION/SENATE/SEX ABUSE/SUPREME COURT/TRUMP PEOPLE: “President Donald Trump on Wednesday [9-26-18] praised the way Senate Republicans have handled sexual assault allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, saying GOP lawmakers ‘could not be more respectful’ to accuser Christine Blasey Ford…Ford accused Kavanaugh of sexually assaulting her when they were both in high school. Another woman, Deborah Ramirez, has also brought claims against Kavanaugh from when they were both in college. Kavanaugh has denied both allegations. Ford and Kavanaugh will speak to the Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday. A vote in the committee on whether to move forward with Kavanaugh’s confirmation is scheduled for Friday [9-28-18]…Trump has expressed doubts about Ford’s claim, tweeting that if the assault was as bad as she claims, she would have filed a police report. The president has also said that the sexual assault allegations are political and put blame on the Democrats.”
