He is part of a troika of GOP finance officials taken down by scandal this year, after Las Vegas casino giant Steve Wynn and venture capitalist Elliott Broidy left the party’s leadership ranks over allegations of sexual harassment and paying off a mistress, respectively. But donors also got a balm — the RNC announced this week it had notched a record-breaking cash haul for July…So far, the numbers bear him out. The RNC raised $14.2 million in July, the group’s best take for that month in a midterm cycle and almost twice what the Democratic National Committee took in.”
