GOP/TRUMP AS PRESIDENT/TWITTER: “President Donald Trump accused Twitter Inc (TWTR.N) on Thursday [7-26-18] of restricting the visibility of prominent U.S. Republicans, without providing evidence, and the avid user of the social media platform promised to investigate. Trump accused the company of targeting fellow Republicans with a practice dubbed ‘shadow banning,’ limiting the visibility of a Twitter user including in the platform’s auto-populated dropdown search box. Twitter denied ‘shadow banning’ anyone. Twitter shares, already lower in pre-market trading after Facebook Inc’s (FB.O) disappointing earnings late on Wednesday dampened enthusiasm for technology and social media stocks, were down around 3 percent on Thursday morning…It was not clear whether Trump planned to ask federal regulators to investigate. The White House did not respond to a request for comment. Twitter did not comment directly on Trump’s tweet but said in a statement it does not ‘shadow ban.'”
