JUDGE GLEESON/JUDGE SULLIVAN/JUSTICE DEPARTMENT/MICHAEL FLYNN/TRUMP PEOPLE/WILLIAM BARR: Following the U.S. Department of Justice’s request under Attorney General Bill Barr to drop its criminal case against Michael Flynn, presiding U.S. District Judge Emmet Sullivan asked retired judge John Gleeson to write an amicus curiae brief opposing the decision. On June 10, 2020, Gleeson submitted an 82-page report stating that “the Court should deny leave because there is clear evidence of a gross abuse of prosecutorial power.”
