IMPEACHMENT/MEDIA/TRUMP AS PRESIDENT: “The advocacy group Need to Impeach will spend at least $1 million airing new pro-impeachment advertisements in the coming weeks, starting Tuesday [12-17-19] with an ad saying President Donald Trump ‘broke his oath to America.’ The ad will begin airing on CNN and MSNBC this week, backed by an initial buy of $350,000. Additionally, more than 100,000 Democratic activists have signed up to attend rallies ahead of Wednesday’s expected impeachment vote in the House, according to Need to Impeach…Though the Senate is expected to vote against removing Trump from office, Need to Impeach said it will spend time and money prodding senators state by state to convict the president. The group, which is funded by Democratic billionaire and presidential candidate Tom Steyer, also plans to focus on Trump aides, including acting chief of staff Mick Mulvaney and former national security adviser John Bolton, whom Senate Democrats recently asked to subpoena for the impeachment trial.”
