MEDIA/POLLS/TRUMP AS PRESIDENT: “President Donald Trump freshly ripped into Fox News on Thursday [01-10-19], attacking the network’s bipartisan polling team — ‘they suck’ — and complaining that his long-cherished channel “doesn’t deliver for US anymore’…The president was referring to the latest Fox News national poll, which found that a new high of 51 percent of voters want Trump impeached and removed from office, whereas 40 percent oppose impeachment altogether. Later Thursday morning, a Trump campaign spokesman lodged a more specific complaint — ‘nearly half’ of the poll’s partisan sample were Democrats, griped spokesman Andrew Clark — urging the news media to ‘put this poll where it belongs — in the garbage.’ Despite the Trump campaign’s grievances, Fox News’ polls are among the most reputable in the industry. Conducted since 2010 by two campaign veterans — Boston-based Democrat Chris Anderson, who polls for Massachusetts state Attorney General Maura Healey, and Republican Daron Shaw, a professor of the University of Texas in Austin and a longtime adviser to former Gov. Rick Perry — the poll has a long track record of accuracy.”
