DONALD JR/INTELLIGENCE/INVESTIGATIONS/SENATE/TRUMP AS PRESIDENT: “Donald Trump Jr. will be interviewed behind closed doors with members of the Senate Intelligence Committee Wednesday [6-12-19], according to a source familiar with the matter. Trump Jr.’s meeting comes after Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Richard Burr (R-N.C.) issued a subpoena to compel him to appear before the panel, following up on his previous testimony to the committee. Trump Jr. reached an agreement with the Senate Intelligence Committee to be interviewed for up to four hours, with questions limited to five or six topics. CNN first reported that Trump Jr. would appear before the committee. The subpoena prompted a backlash from Senate Republicans, who blasted Burr for demanding the president’s oldest son appear before the committee after the completion of special counsel Robert Mueller’s report into Russian interference in the 2016 election.”
