The special counsel and U.S. intelligence agencies have concluded Russia used a campaign of hacking and propaganda to sow discord in the United States, denigrate Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton and boost Trump’s candidacy. Russia has denied election interference. Barr said on March 24 Mueller did not establish that Trump’s 2016 campaign team engaged in a criminal conspiracy with Russia. TRUMP TOWER MEETING Several top Trump aides, including campaign Chairman Paul Manafort, son-in-law Jared Kushner and son Donald Trump Jr., met in June 2016 at Trump Tower in New York with a Russian lawyer who had offered damaging information about Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.
