AMAZON/TRUMP AS PRESIDENT: “President Donald Trump today wished Jeff Bezos luck after the Amazon CEO and wife MacKenzie Bezos announced they are getting divorced, though he added of the split, ‘It’s going to be a beauty.’ The couple, who were married for 25 years, said in a statement Wednesday that “after a long period of loving exploration and trial separation, we have decided to divorce and continue our shared lives as friends.” Hours after the announcement, the National Enquirer reported the split was due to an affair between the Amazon chief and Lauren Sanchez, a television host and the wife of a Hollywood mogul. During an exchange with reporters outside the White House this morning, Trump reacted to news of the divorce. ‘Well, I wish him luck. I wish him luck,’ Trump said. ‘It’s going to be a beauty.’ Trump has been a vocal critic of Bezos and the companies for which he’s best known, e-commerce giant Amazon, where he’s founder and CEO, and The Washington Post newspaper, which Bezos owns separately. The president has accused Amazon of using the U.S. Postal Service ‘as their Delivery Boy’ and the Post of biased coverage of his administration.”
