CONGRESS/DEMS/TRUMP AS PRESIDENT: “Congressional Democrats on Thursday [12-20-18] accused President Donald Trump of ‘plunging the country into chaos’ amid ongoing negotiations over a government funding bill and the administration’s abrupt reshuffling of military strategy. Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., described the administration’s vacillation over the government funding bill and the decision late Thursday of Defense Secretary Jim Mattis to leave Trump’s Cabinet as ‘chaotic’ and repeatedly accused the president of ‘throwing a temper tantrum’…House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., said she was ‘shaken’ by news of Mattis’ departure. The Defense secretary cited differences with Trump’s strategy to explain his decision to leave the administration in February. Pelosi described Mattis as ‘a voice of stability’ in Washington.”
