ATTORNEY GENERAL/DEMS/LEGAL/NEW YORK/TRUMP AS PRESIDENT/TRUMP BUSINESS: “President Donald Trump ripped New York Democrats and prosecutors Wednesday [12-19-18] over targeting the Trump Foundation a day after it agreed to shut down amid a lawsuit by the state. Taking to Twitter on Wednesday morning, the New York native and Republican president criticized the attacks on the embattled foundation and said it has been unfairly targeted by ‘sleazebag’ former Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, who resigned in disgrace, and by his successor…Nonetheless, the charity did agree to shut down Tuesday [12-18-18] and distribute its remaining assets to other nonprofit organizations as part of an agreement with New York Attorney General Barbara Underwood. In June, Underwood, a Democrat, filed a lawsuit against Trump, contending that the charity broke multiple laws governing charities and was used to help his presidential campaign in 2016. At the time the lawsuit was filed, Trump took to Twitter then too, blasting Schneiderman, who had already resigned amid sexual abuse allegations by women, and vowing, ‘I won’t settle this case!'”
