Bush, first lady Melania Trump invited former first lady Laura Bush and a crowd of Bush relatives to the White House, then later joined President Donald Trump in a condolence visit to the Bushes at Blair House in a rapprochement of sorts for two rival clans. Trump invited the former FLOTUS and a host of Bush children and grandchildren to see the much-mocked Christmas decorations at the White House on Tuesday [12-4-18] morning, but the visit was private and no photographers or reporters were present, said Trump’s spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham. But later, Laura Bush posted pictures on Instagram of a crowd of Bushes gathered round under the White House portrait of the 41st president, which was draped in black cloth.”
