TRUMP AS PRESIDENT/TRUMP PEOPLE: “President Donald Trump has recognized seven ‘extraordinary Americans’ with the Presidential Medal of Freedom. It’s the highest honor America gives a civilian. Recipients include doctor and Republican Party donor Miriam Adelson, wife of Las Vegas casino magnate Sheldon Adelson. The Adelsons have donated millions to Trump and the GOP in recent years. Trump also recognized Sen. Orrin Hatch of Utah. Hatch, one of the longest-serving Republican senators in U.S. history. Hatch is retiring in January after more than 40 years. Trump calls Hatch a ‘great friend’ who ‘liked me right from the beginning and therefore I like him.’ Retired Minnesota Supreme Court justice Alan Page and former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Roger Staubach were also honored.”
