MEDIA/SAUDI ARABIA/TRUMP AS PRESIDENT/TURKEY: “President Donald Trump said Wednesday [10-17-18] that his administration has asked for any video or audio intelligence from Turkey’s investigation into the disappearance of Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi, who Turkey says was killed at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul…Khashoggi, a Saudi journalist who had been critical of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and other members of the Saudi royal family, was last seen entering the Saudi consulate in Istanbul on Oct. 2. Audio recordings purportedly detailing what happened to Khashoggi were published by Turkish news media Wednesday. According to the audio, Khashoggi’s fingers were severed during an interrogation, and he was later beheaded and dismembered. The New York Times provided an account it said was based on audio recordings described by a senior Turkish official.”
