EPA/SCOTT PRUITT/TRUMP PEOPLE: “Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Scott Pruitt has resigned from his post, President Donald Trump said. Mr. Pruitt exits amid a series of allegations over ethics and spending. ‘I have accepted the resignation of Scott Pruitt as the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency. Within the Agency Scott has done an outstanding job, and I will always be thankful to him for this,’ Mr. Trump wrote in a Twitter message. The president said that Mr. Pruitt’s deputy, Andrew Wheeler, would become acting administrator of the agency on Monday [7-9-18]. ‘I have no doubt that Andy will continue on with our great and lasting EPA agenda. We have made tremendous progress and the future of the EPA is very bright!’”
