MASS SHOOTING/MEDIA/TRUMP AS PRESIDENT: “President Donald Trump ordered flags across to country to be flown at half-staff on Tuesday [7-3-18] in memory of the five people killed in last week’s shooting at the Capital Gazette newspaper in Annapolis, Md…Last Thursday, a gunman with an apparent longtime grievance against the Capital Gazette entered the paper’s small Annapolis newsroom and started shooting. Five staff members died and two others were injured in the attack. Annapolis Mayor Gavin Buckley previously told reporters that Mr. Trump had refused to lower the flag for the Annapolis victims. In an interview with the Capital Gazette, Mr. Buckley said he was ‘disappointed…’ The White House and Mr. Buckley didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment. Mr. Trump has ordered flags lowered for four previous deadly shootings, including in Las Vegas, which killed 58 people; in Sutherland Springs, Texas, which killed 26 people; in Parkland, Fla., which left 17 dead; and in Santa Fe, Texas, which killed 10.”
