LEGAL/MICHAEL COHEN/ROBERT MUELLER/RUDY GIULIANI/TRUMP PEOPLE/WOMEN: “Rudy Giuliani, who last month joined the team of lawyers representing President Donald Trump in the Russia investigation, resigned from his law firm on Thursday [5-10-18], citing the ‘pressing demands’ of the special counsel probe. Mr. Giuliani said last month that he would take a ‘temporary leave of absence’ from the firm, Greenberg Traurig LLP, and would work to bring a quick end to Robert Mueller’s investigation into whether Trump associates aided what the U.S. has said was Russia’s efforts to influence the outcome of the 2016 presidential election. But on Thursday, Mr. Giuliani said in a statement he would be permanently resigning, citing the ‘pressing demands’ of the Mueller probe…In recent weeks, Mr. Giuliani has embarked on a media blitz in which he revealed, among other matters, that Mr. Trump had reimbursed his longtime lawyer, Michael Cohen, for payments to a former adult film star in the month before the election, contradicting the president, who had denied knowing about the $130,000 payment. Mr. Giuliani also has said Mr. Trump wouldn’t need to comply with a possible subpoena from the special counsel, and he has more broadly criticized Mr. Mueller’s investigation.”
