BUDGET/CABINET/STATE/TRUMP PEOPLE/REX TILLERSON: “Secretary of State Rex Tillerson will defend the Trump administration’s proposal to cut almost one third of the State Department budget in the face of tough questioning from lawmakers on Tuesday and Wednesday [6-14-17].
Mr. Tillerson’s congressional appearances, beginning Tuesday morning before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, will be the first time he takes questions from lawmakers since he became the chief U.S. diplomat in February.
Mr. Tillerson has faced strong bipartisan pushback on the Trump administration’s proposal to cut the State Department and U.S. Agency for International Development budget by 32%.”
