FREC/TRUMP PEOPLE/ROBERT POWELSON/KEVIN MCINTYRE/NEIL CHATTERJEE: “President Donald Trump will soon nominate three new commissioners to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission [FREC], which has been unable to conduct most business because it has too few leaders, according to multiple people familiar with the move.
Mr. Trump is poised to tap Robert Powelson, a member of the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission; Kevin McIntyre, a partner and head of the energy practice at law firm Jones Day; and Neil Chatterjee, top energy adviser to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R., Ky.), to be commissioners.
The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, an independent government agency, regulates the electricity grid, interstate pipelines and other energy infrastructure. The nominations need approval from the Senate.
A White House spokeswoman declined to comment.”
