TRUMP AS PRESIDENT: “A day after most of the country turned their clocks forward, President Donald Trump on Monday [3-11-19] morning threw his support behind the push to permanently change to daylight saving time…State legislatures across the nation are considering eliminating the practice of changing the clocks twice a year, calling it confusing and ineffective. The practice was originally intended to increase the number of sunlit hours during the workday, but research suggests it actually decreases productivity. Some parts of the U.S. already choose not to observe daylight saving, including Hawaii and large swaths of Arizona. Meanwhile, three lawmakers from Florida, Republican Sens. Rick Scott and Marco Rubio along with Republican Rep. Vern Buchanan, introduced the Sunshine Protection Act to make daylight saving permanent.”
