NEW YORK/TRUMP AS PRESIDENT: “President Donald Trump, a born-and-raised New Yorker, misses his hometown and plans to return there after his presidency, he said this week. Trump said in an interview with the New York Post that he’s largely avoided the city during his time in the White House because of the disruption a presidential visit can cause, citing his annoyance when President Barack Obama would come to town…’I love New York, I miss New York,’ Trump said, though New York seems not to love him — the city voted overwhelmingly against Trump in 2016, and protests there against the president and his policies are now part of the norm. Trump, a homebody who would often return to Manhattan between campaign stops to sleep in his own bed in Trump Tower, has returned to the city only a handful of times, mostly for United Nations general assemblies, opting instead to spend more time at his golf club in Bedminster, N.J.”
